2014
This work was a first attempt at understanding the line that separates documentation from memory.
The work began with a road trip taken from Ohio to Alaska circa 2007. Using JSON data extracted from google maps and then tabulated, an Arduino sketch was generated that triggered the appropriate blinker (left or right) in real time as the trip might have progressed.
In doing this, the experience of traveling over an expanse of land is reduced to minor sight and sound, the minutiae of the actual event relinquished only to memory.
The complete “duration” of the work is around 63 hours.
